Great report Shak,

I am with you on these babies, if you want your eardrums destroyed then amp em up.
These cans are astounding on any piece of kit.
Also they do need a long burn in though, probably 100 hrs min.
Forget the rest these are the best , simples !!, though I still love me ultimate triple pro 10s for travelling and the fantastic Grado 80s
But like Sinead said in her sublime song, nothing compares with these.

Nikon D5000 is a great camera. Way better than the entry level D3000 but just a little bit lower specs than D90. The swivel+tilt screen is the selling point.

Thanks, Shak, cool blog you have there, a lot more stylish than many of the 'pro' review sites! If you want a small yet mighty amp, you could do worse than the very reasonable one I just got, which is smaller than an iPhone, but makes a very noticeable improvement to even the D5000- this Nuforce Icon Mobile at $99- http://www.nuforce.com/hp/p...

My friend tuned me into it and it now goes wherever I do.

I've read and like your post. Interesting comments about amplification. In future if I have spare cash, I may invest in a portable amp myself.

Great review, I am also a big fan. If you only get a portable dac/amp, you'll enjoy these all the more. What they are capable is quite astonishing.

As much as I hate double-dipping, if the delay between this version and extended version is too long at time of release then I too may be tempted to buy and then upgrade later.

Hi, yes all pics taken with a Nikon D300 and Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8 lens and then processed with Adobe Lightroom.
